Classic Mahjong

Classic Mahjong is a tile matching browser puzzle built around a simple question: which pieces can you remove now without closing off the board later? Find matching free tiles, remove them as a pair, and use the new space to reach pieces that were blocked before. The challenge is in reading the layout, not merely spotting identical symbols.

How to begin

Read the instructions in the play frame and test one pair of clearly exposed tiles. A tile may be visible without being selectable when another piece covers it or both sides are blocked. Check the edge of a row and the top of a stack before deciding that a visual match should work. After your first pair disappears, pause to see which neighboring pieces have become free.

Choose a move that opens the board

When more than one pair is available, compare what each removal will reveal. A pair beside a crowded row can free another tile's side; a pair on an upper layer can uncover a hidden symbol. Keeping several possible moves open is often better than clearing the easiest looking corner. If you run out of matches, note the point where your options narrowed and try a different move order on the next attempt.
