New PlayStation Plus Additions for May 2024: Red Dead Redemption 2, Cat Quest, and More

Announced on the PlayStation Blog, a total of 13 games will join the library: 10 in the Game Catalog available for Extra and Premium members, and three in the Classics Catalog available only for Premium members.

While this month's lineup might seem smaller compared to recent months, the inclusion of Red Dead Redemption 2 significantly enhances the May catalog. Notably, Rockstar's open-world cowboy adventure returns to the service, having been one of the first games announced for the game catalog two years ago. All games will be available on May 21.

The Sims 4: City Living

The Sims 4: City Living is an expansion for the beloved simulation game, requiring the base game, The Sims 4, which is permanently free. This expansion allows players to move their Sims to the bustling city, offering unique experiences from the vibrant street life right outside their doorstep to the distinctive challenges of apartment living.

Crime Boss: Rockay City

Crime Boss: Rockay City is a first-person action and stealth game set in 1990s Florida. Players aim to rise to the top of the criminal underworld, navigating through a treacherous and dynamic environment filled with rival factions and opportunities for power.

The Settlers: New Allies

The tardily entry in the long-running design sequence, The Settlers: New Allies, invites players to explore new worlds and build expansive cities. Players take control of a group of settlers who have fled catastrophic events in their homeland, seeking new territories to colonize, explore, and conquer.

Stranded: Alien Dawn

In a similar vein but with a sci-fi twist, Stranded: Alien Dawn is a planetary survival simulator that places the fate of a small, stranded group in the player’s hands. Players must make critical decisions to ensure the survival and safety of the group.

Cat Quest and Cat Quest 2

In the first game, players embark on a quest to rescue their kidnapped sister from a malevolent cat. In the second game, they must fight to save the cat world from invading dog armies.

The LEGO Movie 2 Video Game

Classic LEGO fun arrives with The LEGO Movie 2 Video Game, allowing players to smash and build their way through the events of the movie. Alien invaders have left Bricksburg in ruins and captured Emmet’s friends. 

Watch Dogs

Watch Dogs is the first open-world action game in the fan-favorite franchise. It introduces the stoic protagonist, Aiden Pearce, who navigates the streets of Chicago using his smartphone to hack into the city’s infrastructure.

2Xtreme

In the realm of classic games, 2Xtreme delivers high-flying sports action, allowing players to snowboard in Japan, skate in Las Vegas, mountain bike in Africa, skateboard in Los Angeles, and more.

G-Police

Another classic PlayStation game, which received a positive reception, is G-Police. In this 1997 title, players take on the role of Jeff Slater, who joins a volunteer police force after his sister's death is covered up by a corrupt corporation. As a helicopter pilot, players must navigate through 35 intense levels to seek revenge and uncover the truth.

Worms Pinball

Rounding out the PlayStation Plus classics catalog for May 2024 is Worms Pinball, which delivers exactly what its name suggests. This 2000 title combines traditional pinball gameplay with the quirky characters from the Worms series. It features a 3D table with mini-games, side objectives displayed on LED screens, transparent ramps, user-controlled moving gadgets, and much more, offering a unique and entertaining pinball experience.
